Living in Harmony with Nature

We know you might be curious—or even a bit skeptical—about what makes us truly eco. It’s a word you hear all the time, but at Samana Eco Village, it’s not just a label. It’s who we are. We’ve spent nearly a decade proving our commitment to sustainable living through our eco treehouse hotel, and now we’re bringing that same passion and expertise to this new community.

So, what does it really mean to live eco here?

  • Solar-Powered Living: Like our previous project, Samana Eco Village will run entirely on renewable energy, powered by a state-of-the-art solar system.

  • The solar farm will be large enough to source each and every house with reliable air-conditioning in every room, fridges & freezers, washers & dryers. Each home will have a more than comfortable stardard of modern living, but off the grid. It’s not just an option—it’s how we operate, ensuring every home and shared space is energy-efficient and self-sustaining.

  • Natural Building Materials: Our homes aren’t your typical concrete boxes. We use cob plaster (a clay mixture) on concrete blocks, and we incorporate natural stone, wooden roofs, and decorative cana finishes. Every choice is made to integrate with the environment and preserve the land’s beauty, while offering durability and comfort.

  • Fresh Water Conservation: Water is life, and we respect it as such. Our water collection tanks store rainwater, and the fresh spring water flowing into our pools is as pure as it gets—no harsh chemicals, just nature doing its thing, filtered through bio-filters.

  • Farm-to-Table Living: Our two-acre organic farm grows fruits and vegetables that supply our restaurants and market. It’s a true farm-to-table experience, and whatever surplus we have is sold by the local farmer, supporting both the community and sustainable agriculture.

  • Waste Management & Land Restoration: We're developing a thoughtful waste management plan to reduce our impact and recycle responsibly. And because we take care of the land, we've re-engineered the grounds to prevent flooding, opening up natural channels for the river to flow freely, transforming what was once a flooded rice field into a lush eco-haven.

  • Encouraging Biodiversity: We’ve created an environment that encourages local wildlife—from pond life to lush plant life—by avoiding toxic chemicals and nurturing natural ecosystems. Every plant and tree has been chosen to restore this once-neglected land, making it thrive again.

  • Community-Focused Initiatives: Being eco-conscious also means building a strong, inclusive community. We’re working on local small business opportunities within the village, and down the line, we plan to open an educational center for both kids and adults to promote environmental stewardship and sustainable practices.

At Samana Eco Village, we take the word eco seriously. It’s not just about sustainable energy or natural materials—it’s about creating a lifestyle that respects the planet and supports the local community.

Some of our unique amenities include the giant hammock net for lounging and one of our communal natural pools, perfect for relaxing and connecting with nature.

Discover Our Amenities

Natural swimming pools,

here on the land we are very fortunate to have a small river flowing through out the land, the water comes straight from the local waterfalls (salto el limon). We use this beautiful gift of a constant flow of water, on our farm land, for our natural pools and lakes.

Jungle Gym

sitting on the edge of the river we are creating a open air outside jungle gym completely made from natural materials, large wooden log shaped weights, pull up bar tree branches, large log dip supports and much more, the gym will make you feel like you’ve gone back in time to the stone ages

Spa,

also located close to the river in a very relaxing space we will create a massage spa, open air with beautiful views of the nature and the sounds of the river flowing, you can choose from a veriety of different massage treatments either at the start or end of your day.

The farm,

Samana boasts the ideal climate: abundant sun and rain.

This fertile land allows for an off-grid lifestyle, growing our own food and living sustainably.

We currently own a farm that spans 2 acres, growing a variety of tropical fruits like bananas, mangoes, and papayas.

Our vision is to create a small market by one of the lakes in the community.

  1. Residents can exchange surplus fruits and vegetables, trading what they have too much of for what they need.

  2. Every resident will have the opportunity to grow their own fruits and vegetables.

  3. This promotes self-sufficiency and sustainability, creating a more resilient community.

  4. As our community grows, we will expand to include areas for animals like horses, cows, goats, and chickens.

  5. The goal is to further diversify our farm, providing fresh produce, eggs, milk, and more.

  6. Our long-term vision includes expanding the farm to produce even more.

  7. Imagine our very own chocolate-producing finca, a small honey farm, and goat cheese production for the community.

River nets,

thanks to our business associates’ Tree Net Willy, we have some beautiful suspended nets around the eco lodge hotel, we are soon to place these awesome fun nets over the river so customers cant quite literally hang out on the river. The river nets are located next to the large communal swimming pool, bar & kitchen

The restaurants,

first restaurant has already been built, its also used as our reception area as is the first building you walk into from the car park, located on the river with a massive natural pool adjacent to it, its the perfect place to enjoy some good wine and excellent farm to table cuisine
