The Purpose Behind Samana Eco Village

We’re Ben, Xio, and our daughter Sienna, and for the past 9 years, we’ve called the lush jungles of Samana our home. What started as a small dream of creating an ecolodge has blossomed into a way of life, one rooted in sustainability, community, and living in harmony with nature.

In the early days, we built our ecolodge from the ground up, growing our own food and embracing a simpler, more intentional way of living. From there, we began planting the seeds not just for the future of our land, but for something much bigger — a vision for a community of like-minded families who share our passion for a sustainable, meaningful way of life.

For us, it’s never been just about creating beautiful homes — it’s about creating a place where people can truly live. A place where comfort doesn’t come at the expense of the environment, where every tree, every vegetable, and every corner of this land tells a story of care, respect, and growth. It’s about sustainability, yes, but it’s also about family, connection, and the kind of community that supports and nourishes us all.

Our daughter Sienna has grown up here, and every day we’re reminded of why we’re doing this — to create a future where our children can thrive in a world that values nature and community over consumerism and isolation. We live this dream every day, and now we want to invite others to join us.
